How much does it cost for a technician to come to my home and diagnose a problem?
A diagnostic fee of $129.00 +HST (depending on equipment type) is charged for a technician to visit your home and assess the equipment. The diagnostic fee covers; a complete inspection and troubleshooting of the equipment, identifying the cause and recommending solutions. Once the issue has been diagnosed, we will provide you with a repair quote using our flat rate pricing system. This means you will know the cost of the repair before any work beings. No repair work is completed without your approval.
How long does it take for you to respond to service calls?
We strive to provide fast, reliable service to our customers across Ottawa. We understand how important your heating, cooling, hot water and heat pump systems are to your family’s comfort and safety. We aim to respond to service requests the same day you contact us. During periods of high demand appointment availability may vary, however our team works hard to schedule service as quickly as possible and prioritize urgent situations. If you are enrolled in an Ottawa Home Services Protection Plan, priority scheduling benefits apply.
How long does it take to complete an installation?
The typical furnace or air conditioner installation takes approximately four hours. Converting an oil furnace to a gas furnace can take up to 8 to 12 hours.
How much does it cost for an equipment cleaning?
Equipment cleaning is included with every Ottawa Home Services protection plan. Plans start as low as $9.99 per month which include additional maintenance and service benefits, priority scheduling benefits. A one-time cleaning on a single piece is also available for $131.87 +HST (pricing varies depending on equipment type).
Do you sell parts?
For the most part, no. The only parts we sell are humidifier pads, furnace filters and some parts for vänEE heat recovery ventilators.
How much does it cost to install a gas line to an appliance?
Installing a gas line to an appliance costs $181.00 per hour plus materials, flex, fittings and elbows are additional. Approximately $15 per foot plus HST.
If I sign up for a protection plan, what is the minimum commitment?
The longest we would ask you to commit to an Ottawa Home Services protection plan is one year.
How do I get a quote for a new system?
To get a free quote on the installation of a new furnace or air conditioner, simply call our office at 613-829-9700 or fill out our online request a quote form. We will then send a heating and cooling consultant to your home at a time convenient for you, who will be able to answer all of your questions.
Do you use subcontractors for your installations?
No, we do not use subcontractors. A knowledgeable and professional Ottawa Home Services employee performs all HVAC service and installations.
Do you have liability insurance?
We are insured for any damage accidentally performed to your home that was a direct result of any of our services for a total up to $5 million coverage. Proof of insurance is strongly recommended and readily available to you upon request.
